"Kupua"
Lively colors, feathers, and symbols combine to create powerful imagery and ignite the imagination. A fused glass disc, 1/4" thick and 8" in diameter serves as the base for the other elements.

It is thought by many that the healers were generally men; historically, there have been as many females in that role as males - this piece is a "Medicine Woman" and honors the role of that gender in safeguarding her tribe. She wears a necklace of authentic coyote claws; the coyote is a "transformer", assisting the Shaman in the transformation of a negative situation into a positive (sickness to health). The "waterglass" background symbolizes the power of transition - the ability to change from solid to liquid to gas - a complete metamorphosis.
