"borrowed time"

_
This piece started out as merely a technical challenge; I wanted to see how far I could push the glass medium in manipulating it (note the clock)
I was successful on my first try, so I had to make something to go with it.
The head is of white Colorado marble, shaped to the desired form. To this I affixed fused glass eyes, mouth and moustache.
A steel rod rising out of the base of gray marble holds securely, as I drilled up into the head 3" and applied epoxy (same for the other end).
Now that I had assembled the "backdrop", I was all set to mount the focal point...the clock.
One-of-a-kind
29"h x 6-1/2"w x 7"d (dimensions include base)
$1,950
