      "Delilah"

Picture
_
You certainly will never feel alone with this piece in the same room....

I consider this piece a "contemporary totem"; I was doing some research regarding the totem art in Alaska and got inspired - Delilah was the result.

Utilizing a piece of Portuguese marble, I shaped and carved openings into it. Around these openings I carved indentations into the stone (my version of petroglyphs) and filled them with black ink. Fused glass elements were then attached, along with an elaborate fused glass head (including purple dichroic lips).

A black granite base completes the piece.
